Solution Overview

Containerised Power Built for Rapid Offshore Deployment

Modular power systems provide a practical way to deploy temporary, semi-permanent or permanent electrical infrastructure without completing the full build and commissioning programme at the final operating location.

MJR designs and builds containerised power and control systems in a controlled workshop environment, where equipment can be assembled, integrated and tested before delivery. Completed modules can then be transported to the vessel, offshore project or site and connected with significantly less work required during mobilisation.

Operational Benefits

Why Use a Modular Power System?

Building power and control systems as transportable modules can move significant engineering, integration and testing activity away from the final installation site.

  • Built efficiently within a controlled workshop environment.
  • Fully integrated and tested before delivery.
  • Reduced installation and commissioning activity at the final site.
  • Faster mobilisation and start-up.
  • Convenient transport to vessels and offshore locations.
  • Suitable for temporary, semi-permanent and permanent applications.
  • Flexible packaging for project-specific electrical and control equipment.
  • Modules can combine power conversion, distribution, drives, control and energy storage within a defined package.

Solution Capabilities

Modular Power & Control for Marine, Offshore and Onshore Applications

MJR engineers containerised systems around the electrical load, equipment, environment, installation constraints and interfaces of each project.

  • Containerised large variable speed drives and control systems for medium-voltage subsea jetting pump motors.
  • Power and control containers for ploughs, ROVs, trenching vehicles and subsea drilling equipment.
  • Containerised switchboards and distribution systems for project-specific deck equipment spreads.
  • Temporary power generation.
  • Containerised energy storage systems.

Marine and offshore systems are typically packaged within standard or high-cube ISO 20-foot containers and can be designed, built and certified for offshore-container and offshore-service-module requirements.
Related Onshore Applications

  • Containerised power conversion for grid connection of wave and tidal generation systems.
  • Microgrids and energy storage.
  • Shore-power frequency and voltage conversion.
  • Containerised power conversion and controls for proof-of-concept testing.

MJR's modular packages bring power conversion, electrical distribution, drive systems and automation together within transportable systems engineered for offshore deployment and project-specific equipment.
